Juneau Projects: Makers of the Multiverse 13 May –
10 June 2017

This autumn we have commissioned artist duo Juneau Projects to develop a project for Exeter delivered in collaboration with Exeter community groups and schools. The project will extend the artists’ engagement with the role of distribution, pricing and accessibility of artworks and explore alternatives to more traditional ‘art world’ gallery systems and hierarchies.

Working with diverse groups Juneau Projects will expand the idea of the edition, looking at options beyond objects that might include performances, experiences and skill-sharing opportunities. Exeter School of Art and artist group Preston Street Union are key partners in this project, which will provide a platform for collaborative production across the city.

The project will culminate in the production and display of a ‘pavilion’, which will act as a focal point from which to promote and grow the project. The free -standing structure will be an artwork in itself and will act as a shop, social space and a venue for workshops and events.

The space will be open to the public from 13 May – 10 June 2017, launching during Art Week Exeter. Venue to be confirmed.

About Juneau Projects
Juneau Projects was formed in 2001 by Philip Duckworth and Ben Sadler.
The majority of their work includes playful, participatory elements and involves projection, sound, music, animation and installation. They are particularly interested in the rapidly increasing speed of technological development, and its associated obsolescence. Recent works have evolved from an exploration of the role of artists through fictional depictions of societies experiencing the aftermath of technological break down. www.juneauprojects.co.uk
This project sees Spacex’s continued relationship with the artists which stretches back to 2001.
