Paper Lamp Shade Making 14 May
£10 / drop in /11am-2pm
Folding, cutting or weaving, stimulate your creativity and manipulate paper to make a lampshade with Mayumi Kaneko.
Mayumi is a hand weaver. Recently, her main focus has been the exploration of the potential of Japanese paper yarn. The yarn is made from Manila hemp fibres and a Japanese paper making method is used to make it into yarn. It is a very unique, fascinating and sustainable material. Her work is available in the Makers of the Multiverse Pavilion.
This event is part of Makers of the Multiverse, a temporary public artwork by Juneau projects who have built a pavilion and invited local artists and makers to stock it with affordable art and run events. The Pavilion, commissioned by Spacex, can be found next to The Boat Shed at Haven Banks.
