Spacex Art Clubs
Artclub (8-11yr olds) is a children’s Artclub which runs regularly during term-term. These sessions introduce children to a wide range of media and approaches to art. The club is led by local artist and teacher Jenny Mellings, who has been running children’s art activities at Spacex for over 15 years.

A week of workshops and activities for children and families
Tuesday August 12
Light Lab
Under 8s, booking essential, Free
Children must be accompanied by an adult, 10-11.30am and 1-2.30pm
This day is for kids of up to 8 years old and their parents. We’ll be exploring colour and light and creating mini light installations.
Wednesday August 13,
Image Alchemy
All ages, booking essential, under 8s must be accompanied, Free
10-11.30am and 1-2.30pm
Come and try out cyanotype photography.
Thursday August 14
Photography
10-13 yr olds, Booking essential, £8 (£5) 10am-4pm
This intensive day will give participants the opportunity to explore photography from a fine arts perspective. You will work with 2 different artists to produce a portfolio of images to take home. This workshop will be inspired by the exhibition Hidden
Friday August 15
Animated Friday
8-12 yr olds, £8 (£5) booking essential, 10am-4pm
An opportunity to make your own stop motion animation. This workshop is suitable for absolute beginners and will introduce you to the basics of animation and allow you to make short clip of your own animation.
OFF-SITE
Saturday August 16
Art in the Park, CCANW 11am-4pm, drop-in, families welcome
Join us at the CCANW, Haldon Forest park and take part in an outdoor workshop. Make a metallic bird sculpture or woodland animal mask with artist Lucy Jackson. SEE FULL LISTING FOR ART IN THE PARK UNDER EVENTS SECTION OF THE WEBSITE.
